What were the main steps of your project?

We started working with Bizzdesign in 2000 under an initiative to begin mapping our enterprise applications. Two years later, we added business process mapping, which until then had been managed using software that was part of the quality management system we implemented for our ISO 9000/2000 certification.

Shift enterprise architecture from an IT-centric endeavor to a business-centric initiative.

Beginning in early 2016, a $160B Global Auto Manufacturer launched its Smart Mobility initiative: an expansion of the Company’s business model to be both an auto and a mobility company. This decision to design, build and invest in Smart Vehicles and Smart World services for its customers required the Company to find a better way to manage its enterprise architecture.

ZF Friedrichshafen AG is a German car parts maker headquartered in Friedrichshafen, in the southwest German region of Baden-Württemberg. As a globally operating technology group with some 230 locations, ZF currently uses approximately 1,500 software products of all types, which continues to grow.

Reducing the complexity of application management 

The bank’s challenge was to reduce the complexity that had evolved in its application management. This involved needing to reduce the number of registered applications in order to reduce complexity, assess the capabilities of new applications, and bring down the overall cost of running applications and application development across the bank.
